Porto is one of the biggest cities in Portugal. When I visit there, I only stay 1 day but it was still nice to see the main areas of the city. I went there with friends and when we arrive in the city first we checked in for the accommodation then tried to find a nice place to sit and rest a bit. After walking through the Igreja do Carmo church and walked around we found some restaurants opposite the Sao Bento Station and sit there a bit. I ordered a coffee and nata which is a Portuguese dessert. In the UK I went to eat that dessert at some Portuguese bakery shops and it was really nice to try it in Portugal too. It was fresh and I liked it. After resting a bit we went to the Sao Bento Station. That station was a nice indoor design and colorful walls. After taking some photos we head to the Porto Cathedral.
Porto Cathedral was over a hill and it allowed us to see the city view from a nice angle. I took some photos there and then we tried to go to the riverside of the city. When go down we went to the Ribeira area and there was a huge steel bridge. We walked around and there were some gift shops. The weather was hot and some people were jumping into the water from the riverside. After that, we passed through the bridge and wanted to rest on the other side of the river. When we see the cable car we decided to use that from down to the top of the bridge after rest. We walked to the WOW Porto area. On the wall, there was a half-rabbit statue on the wall. It was looking so cute. Then we went and sit in Mercado Beira-Ria to have some drinks and rest.
When we finish resting we got some tickets for the cable car and we went to the top of the bridge with the cable cars. The city was looking so beautiful by cable car but it was really hot that day. When we arrived at the top we walked to the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar. That place was also looking at the city from the top with beautiful city and sunset views. On the other side of the river, Fernandine Walls of Porto were seen as well with funicular and houses. After walking around we found a suitable place to watch the sunset with friends and waited around 40 min to see the sunset. I took some photos and videos there and also the area was so crowded.
After sunset, we walked through the bridge again and went to the other side of the city. We found some nice restaurants. We wanted to try some seafood there. The food was nice and worth trying when visiting there. We passed by the Clerigos Church and Tower as well.
It has a nice clock tower. After finishing the dinner we walked to the accommodation and passed by Miraduro da Vitoria I took some long exposure photos there and just before we sit in a place for a drink and people were hangout after their work times. Then we went home and rest for another day.
On the 2nd day, the plan was to go to Lisbon. That day we checked out around 11 am and then we got bus tickets to Lisbon. We arrived at the station on time and took a bus and went to Lisbon in the afternoon time.
It was definitely not enough time the see famous spots of the city but it was nice to see those areas and feel the city spirit. The other places I would like to go in Porto next time I would like to share here as well;
