York is one of the oldest cities In the UK. York is the center of Yorkshire. The cathedral looks great and it is built in the 13th century.
I have been to York many times and I want to give some information about my trips there. First I used trains from Sheffield to York and it takes almost 1hour and 20 min. York train station is big and beautiful. I like to take photos there and I like the roof design of that station. Also, the big clock next to the stairs looks nice for me. York train station is so close to Transport and railway museum. That place is important for me because I am studying related to railways.
Transport and railway museum is huge and probably you will need at least 2 hours to finish visiting in all museum. You can see old and new versions of trains and train parts in that museum. Also, you can eat food there with friends. When you finish the museum you can head to the York minster and on the way, you will see city walls. The city wall continues around the center and it is so good to walk over there. There are many good photo points as well.
Your minster is from the 13th century and an amazing building. That cathedral I would say is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the UK. You need to pay for a ticket to enter the Cathedral. You can see also inside of the cathedral huge and nice to see all buildings. If you need a bit extra you can see the view from Cathedral tower as well. The shop at the Cathedral is nice and you can buy something related to York. When you finish the Cathedral visit you can see the York streets and it is definitely worth walking there and visiting some shops and café. Next to the Cathedral, there is Constantinople sculpture. When you walk the streets you can see the cathedral from different points.
Another place is shambles Market. There are many different shops and places you can see and do some shopping. When you follow the streets you can see Harry Potter shops and different famous shops. When I visited there I saw a guy he was collecting money for charity and walking so slowly on the street. He was funny.
Another nice place is the museum gardens and parks. You can see the walls of st. Mary’s Abbey. The wall with windows looks amazing and nice for photography as well. York Art Gallery is in that gardens. York Venues home is another point in this garden with a lovely house. The park is big and beautiful just near the river.
Another point is Clifford Tower but unfortunately, I was just there from outside because of construction and repair work of that tower. It looks nice from the outside and I am sure the city looks so nice over that tower walls too.
