Genoa, Italy

Genoa is a seaside city in Italy. I went there from Manchester at the end of March 2023. When I arrive there first, I went to passport control and walked the outside of the airport. From the airport to the center, I used the train and the station was around 15 min away on the walk. I bought a ticket from Genova Sestri Ponente train station to  Genova Brignole train station and went to the center. The train took almost 20 min to the center.  Brignole station was also a beautiful and well-designed station.

After that I walked to the Cathedrale di San Lorenzo there was a nice area and a beautiful Cathedral in Genoa. When I walk there I passed by MOG Mercato Orientale and there was a big food court with many fresh vegetables, meats, and more stuff there. The streets were clean and nice. I arrived at the Piazza de Ferrari and there was a nice water fountain and square. There was a monument also with the name Monumento a Garibaldi.  Behind the monument, there was the Opera Carlo Felice Genova building. After the Cathedral I walked to Via Garibaldi Street and there was a famous street and Unesco-listed area. Palazzo Doria Tursi museum was there as well. All streets were so colorful and beautiful with different colors of houses and I rested a bit with drinking coffee in a local cafe.

Then walked to the Belvedere Castelletto area to see the all-city view. That spot was amazing, and it was nice to see Genoa from all views. The city was unique and had different architecture for me. When I finish taking photos I wanted to go to another place that is Santissima Annunziata del Vastato Basilica. Inside there was amazing and had so beautiful art. All the painted ceilings were so nice.

I walked by the University of Genoa and the Royal Palace Museum and went to the Castello D’Albertis. I walked up to the hill but it was nice to see that castle and museum inside. Again there was so nice city view too from the castle. The Lighthouse of Genoa was in view as well with its beauty.

Then I walked to the seaside of the city again and rest a bit with having lunch in the Galata Museu del Mare. There was also a Maritime museum. That museum was looking nice as well but I couldn’t manage to visit inside due to the time limit. The aquarium of Genoa is also close to there if like to visit. There was a nice ship around that area.

In the last hour there, I walked again in the nice streets of Genoa and saw many nice buildings around. Then I got the bus to Milan. If I had more time I would like to go the Portofino as well. There is close to Genoa and so beautiful place.
